Ms. Courtney has practiced family law for more than 16 years, concentrating her practice in the areas of divorce, distribution of marital assets, support and custody. She has represented CEOs, individuals with high net worth, as well as other professionals in addition to representing the spouses of said individuals.
In 2005, 2006, and 2007, Ms. Courtney was honored by inclusion in Law & Politics Magazine and Philadelphia Magazine's Rising Stars list of the top 2.5 percent of all lawyers under age 40 in the Commonwealth as selected by her peers statewide.
Ms. Courtney has received a BV Peer Review rating through Martindale-Hubbell system which attests to her professional ability and ethics based on confidential opinions of the local Bar and Judiciary. Martindale- Hubbell BV rating is defined as follows: "An indication of exemplary reputation and well-established practice. Ms. Courtney is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals as well as a founding member of the Bucks County Collaborative Law Group. Ms. Courtney received her basic collaborative practice training from Practical Collaborative Solutions LLC. Mediation training was received from the Montgomery County Mediation Center.
Ms. Courtney is an active member of the Bucks County Bar Association, as well as the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Ms. Courtney received her law degree from Widener University School of Law in 1993, where she was elected to Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Fraternity and her B.S. from the University of Delaware in 1990, where she was elected to Mortar Board and elected President of her senior class.
